Product Reviews and Questions
It’s a great pole
High quality product and very lightweight. I got this for my Ultamid 2 because I like to have my tracking poles available after I’ve set up camp. The adjustable base allows you to get the height you need when pitching in a tricky spot. Good job guys
Tolerances are too loose
The general design of the pole is simple, and the extension tube is sensible, but the tolerances of the tubes are far too loose. When the sections of the pole are fitted together there’s too much play. Once assembled no matter how much downward pressure there is from the top of the tent the pole moves well over a centimeter from left to right which will cause the tent to move around in the wind and the pole to make noise. Trekking poles strapped together create a much sturdier solution than this if done correctly but of course the idea is to not have to use trekking poles. We need tighter tolerances at the tube junctures. Disappointed.
So far seems solid and well made
I have used for 5 overnights so far and tow of those nights the wind speed was high and it seems solid and robust.
Strong and light
The perfect pole for the perfect tent. Strong carbon, light weight pole designed specifically for the UltaMid. No hassle trying to get the right height or strap walking poles together.
Easy setup and sturdy
I use trekking poles, but I got this for occasions when we want to leave the tent as a basecamp while we summit a peak so I don't have to leave my poles behind. It makes setup so much easier that I use it all the time now though. I still carry trekking pole straps as a backup. It's nice to have options, and good that they don't add much weight!
