This four-wall UltaMid 4 Insert features “no-see-um” mesh and a Dyneema® Composite Fabrics floor for adventurers who want to keep the bugs at bay and gear dry. Built to fit into the UltaMid 4, the 100% waterproof DCF11 bathtub-style base ensures excellent protection in inclement weather. The UltaMid 4 Full-Insert creates a living room for up to four people. The insert is marginally smaller than the perimeter of the UltaMid, so it never touches the walls and keeps condensation to a minimum. UltaMid 4 Tent, Ultralight Stake Kit, and UltaMid Carbon Fiber Tent Pole sold separately.

What more can be said? If you’re considering this insert, you know what you’re looking for. I’m yet to be disappointed by HMG gear.
Easy to Use Floor and Bug Screen
The insert was just as easy to setup as the tent. It seems well built and provides good protection from ground moisture. It also makes the UltaMid feel a bit more like a “regular” tent for those that are less accustomed to sleeping under a tarp tent. All without much increase in weight.
The one complaint I have is that the bug netting was not designed to allow use of the internal hanging clips that exist on the inside of the UltaMid tent. I wish there was a pass through of some kind in the bug netting that would allow for some guy line (for hanging clothing) to be hung across the inside of the tent. As it is there is no built in way to hang anything inside the insert. Still a great product, just be prepared to be creative if you are accustomed to hanging things inside your tent.

Great set up for our arctic river trip. Using the half screen insert, we had plenty of space to store our gear (drysuits, packs, etc.) in one half of the tent and still enough space for two of us to sleep in the screened part to avoid the inevitable mosquitoes. The tent kept us dry during the boughts of rain (including a pretty intense rain storm) and had no problems handling the wind. We love it!
